Church of the Apostle Santiago.
It was built during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. It started with ashlar stone (Gothic style) and concluded with the typical Mudejar brick.
It has a single nave, side chapels and apse with 7 sides. Outside, the Tower composed of the Main Tower and another interior that serves as a staircase is of great interest.
However, the highlight is the Mudejar upper part of the church that has a walker giving military character to the construction.
Visiting hours are the same as those of worship.
Montalban
The Historic Center of the Villa is accessed through the old wall that surrounded the old town center, through the tower known as Portal de Daroca, with a ground floor porch.
The interior of this construction was destined to jail in times past by what is also called Torreón de la Carcel.
From here it gives way to a straight and narrow street, the most urban and stately with manor buildings and heraldic shields sculpted in the portals.
Covered passageways are generated along this street that ascend to the "Era de la Cruz", elevation of land that together with the place where the remains of the old castle of Montalbán are located, closed the defensive perimeter.
This street dies in the Plaza Mayor that appears subordinated to the powerful volume and majesty of the La Iglesia de Santiago temple.
Considered as one of the most important buildings in Aragon, jewel of the first Mudejar Turolense.
To the north the portal of the Wall opens, also known as the Portal de la Rambla nterior in medieval times.
At the end of the street another arch of the wall "El Portal de Santa Engracia" or "Arco del Muro".
Finally highlight the complicated and spectacular network of still lifes and underground passages with communications, which extend throughout the old area, mainly from the Torreon de la Carcel to the square and draining into the Martin River, which are currently being restored by the City Council to adapt it to visits.
This tour begins at the point where the information booth of the Martín River cultural park is installed.
From the Arc del Muro there is a road that leads us to the Peñarroyas neighborhood.
