The museum is located in HUESCA capital of the province, also known as the "Alto Aragon".

Time has consolidated a valuable artistic heritage in Huesca, part of which is collected and cared for in this museum.

The building is of great interest because it occupies part of the old palace of the Kings of Aragon, with a chapel (room of Dona Petronila), and the room where the episode of the bell of Huesca is located.
Attached to these constructions, stands the beautiful octagonal patio designed by F. de Artiga.

It also has a sober facade.

As a cultural center, it has the following collections:

A very important archaeological section,
Medieval painting backgrounds of great interest,
the fine arts section with the Carderera legacy,
with engravings by Goya,
other drawings and canvases.
