Aragon > Huesca > Santa Maria de Dulcis
There are geometric reliefs of the dome of the Church of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Dulcis, in the village of Buera, in other times belonging to the town of Alquezar and that today, together with the village of Huerta de Vero they form the municipality of Sta. Maria of Dulcis, although we all continue to call each village by name.
On the way to the Dulcis Monastery, which collapsed about 10 or 12 years ago when its restoration began, leaving only the Church standing, and upon reaching the hermitage of San Juan, there is a detour to the left, which follows it , we arrive at the so-called "O Pozo os Moros", that is, El Pozo de los Moros, where, according to tradition, ice plates were placed inside the ravine, each layer of ice sheets being separated from the next by layers of straw. These heavy sheets of ice were used in the summer to refresh. Our grandparents commented that this ice was transported at night to be used by the Muslim chiefs living in Alquezar (castle).
This well could perfectly be Roman and not Arabic.
