The Castillo de los Calatravos (today Parador Nacional) stands out. This is a Baroque monument of impressive dimensions made in the 18th century by the architect Domingo Yarza, in imitation of the Pilar de Zaragoza.
It conserves an important set of Gothic paintings in its sacristy.
The church of Carmen, seventeenth century, and that of the Escolapios, eighteenth century, summarize the baroque and neoclassical tastes respectively.
