It is located on the slope of the Santa Cruz mountain range and is famous for its pastry and bread factory.
The neighbors of Acered conserve with devotion the processions of Easter, around the hermitage of the Soledad; the pilgrimage to the hermitage of the Virgen de Semón, the second Sunday of May; and the ancient mass and auction of the offerings that San Roque receives, in the hermitage that bears his name and on the day of his holiday, August 16.
But the most typical and traditional thing about this town is the food organized by the Brotherhood of San Blas, the day of his party, on February 3. The celebrations retain the old denomination of priors and butlers, dressed in their typical sashes and batons. The brotherhood prepares this meal according to the purest secular tradition, so the meat is roasted, which must be ram and not lamb, skewered in lathes and in the fire of the bonfire of carrasca wood. To serve and taste it, clay pots and wooden spoons.
If we are in Acered we can visit and admire its parish church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin and decorated throughout its interior with plasterwork of Mudejar tradition made by Juan de Marca back in 1674.
The hermitages of Calvary and the Virgin of Semón rise up very close to the town and the remains of the castle can still be seen on a nearby hill. Several peirones are also preserved in the term of Acered, among which we highlight that of the Homeless, next to which remains of an Iberian wall have appeared.
